Doug Carlson

Doug has been involved in rubberized asphalt technology development for the last 20 years through the Rubber Pavements Association where he served as the Executive Director and with Liberty Tire Recycling.  His work involves specification development for owner agencies to capture the beneficial engineering properties of recycled tire rubber in asphalt mixes and other pavements types.  He currently serves on the NAPA Associate Membership Council along with representing the recycled tire industry in several state Contractors’ and Asphalt Associations. He is a regular volunteer for ASTM, TRB and the Rubberized Asphalt Foundation.  He served in the US Marine Corps as a Combat Engineer and Fuel Specialist in Operations Desert Shield/Storm.  He is married to Cindy Atherton of Milwaukee, WI and has four children ages 16 to 12 and lives in Queen Creek, AZ.
